CLOWNS VS ANGELS

Sister Searle is my new personal trainer & I am her hairdresser.  I chopped her hair to her chin & she is helping me chop off my double chin. 

Christmas eve was SO GOOD!!!  The Fujimotos are INCREDIBLE & make insanely good food. 

We also dropped off SO MANY COOKIES to ward members & friends we are teaching!!! It was a BLAST. 

Pro tip: when you get bashed & cry about it... Smoothie King helps!! 

CAROLING AS A DISTRICT PART 1: 

-We sang for one lady & the only thing she said was "can I have more cookies?" 

We already gave you 4. 

-My favorite person though! My soul sister!!  Requested a burger and fries. 

Plot twist!!!! Those were both the same person. HA a queen amongst us. 

I made cookies for our friends and our friend Kyla shared one with an older man she works for!!  APPARENTLY he started tearing up & said they taste exactly like his mom's cookies?!?! 

shoutout to my mother for the recipe. 

GUYS KYLA IS AN ANGEL!!!!!!!!!!  She calls us her "babies" & claims she has now adopted us.

She LOVES God & the Book of Mormon.  Just pray that her work schedule gets changed so she can come to church. Also her son Nicholas is incredible, and says he feels like we really are his sisters. LOVE THEM. 

CAROLING AS A DISTRICT PART 2: 

CHRISTMAS DAY SPECIAL! 

-we went caroling at a nursing home & met Tom and John. I am obsessed with them. Absolutely obsessed. They were the only people who came out to hear us sing HA! 

quality over quantity am I right???? 

-John kept singing with us! In Spanish! And Tom kept BEGGING us to take John with us.... Honestly I would. 

THIS WAS 100% MY MOST FAVORITE CHRISTMAS I'VE EVER HAD. 

The day was just packed with TRUE JOY. 

I use that word a LOT in my weekly emails. BUT the mission is just SO full of JOY!!!! 

Yes there are some hard hours! Rude people! tears!  BUT MAINLY JOY & HAPPINESS!!!!!

The experiences I've had in Monroe, Louisiana are just so so good.  AGH.

"A Cajun night before Christmas" is a FIRE book. 

We got a call the other day from a "meemaw" in Arkansas, begging us to contact and teach her grandson who lives in Monroe. We called him & are teaching him TOMORROW! This grandma LOVES this gospel and LOVES her grandson so so much. It's ONLY natural that she would want him to accept it!! 

This gospel brings us HAPPINESS in this life and ETERNAL JOY in the next!!!! 

Met someone who's cousins with Joseph Smith! Did you guys know he is alive?? And from England!! AND CATHOLIC??????? 

Met a baby girl named RYAN JANE!!!!!!!!!! 

she is my daughter now.

Led the area on my exchange!!! Monroe will never recover. BUT I HAD A BLAST!!!!!

Cannot wait to be out of training. 

TRI-ZONE CONFERENCE!!!!!! I do NOT recommend reenacting a nativity with that many missionaries. BUT President & Sister Amos are incredible & inspiring & so full of love. LOVE THEM.

I spoke in church & BRENDAN (thrift store guy) CAME!!!!!! AND HE BROUGHT A FRIEND!!!!!!! He said he REALLY enjoyed it & asked "can we meet on Tuesday?? Please? I have lots of questions" PUMPED!!!! 

Also he told me I have a gift for public speaking???? HA Heavenly Father was really working on this man.

BONITA IS ON DATE FOR BAPTISM!!!!!! and then yesterday she called us & told us she is moving back to Texas... THIS WEEK?!?!? 

depressed. She is one of my favorite people!!!  (imagine napoleon dynamite's grandma with no teeth) 

BUT she already has the Texas missionaries number!! She WILL be baptized. Hehe yay. 

Reginald & (maybe) Stephanie are also ready for baptism but they are LIVING IN MAINE until APRIL????? Someone get a hold of the Portland Maine missionaries asap. 

Finally back in contact with Kelly again!!!!! (The lady who said she is gonna convert us....) 

LOVE LOVE HER!!!!!! 

She knows about the BOM but has never read it & claimed last time we met with her that she doesn't think she will ever accept it as scripture. 

I read 2 Nephi 1:15 and this woman TEARED up and said that it was beautiful & that she really needed to hear that. We're teaching her the restoration next time. SHE BETTER BE READY TO ACCEPT THE BOOK OF MORMON AS SCRIPTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BRENDAN IS COOL TOO THOUGH 

He came up to US at a thrift store a couple weeks ago and told us he wants "to learn about what Mormons believe" 

HE IS SO AWESOME WHAT!!!!!! 

He is REALLY studying the Book of Mormon and told us "if the Book of Mormon is true, then I NEED to know and I NEED to follow it."

NO I didn't cry when I testified of the Book of Mormon????? Why would you ask me that??? 

Psych I cry every time. 

THAT BOOK IS SO INCREDIBLE I TRULY CAN'T HELP IT.

Ya know how we have to ENDURE to the end??  I've never really liked that word in that context.  It makes it sound like living the gospel is SUCH a struggle!!  but NO???  This gospel brings so much joy!! 

By following the gospel we are literally THRIVING to the end!!!  Not just enduring.  IT MAKES LIFE SO MUCH BETTER.

I shot a crossbow for the first time!! 

On a completely unrelated note I also had to yank an arrow out of someone's trailer....

ALSO on a VERY unrelated note... shooting a crossbow is apparently against the missionary standards!! 

We called this lady & she just CASUALLY mentioned that she got stabbed in the neck THREE times that week!!!!!!! 

Turned right on ULM campus & the Spirit said TURN AROUND!!!  SO we turned around. Found Tazz & Jasmine within 4 minutes & got both of their numbers. Love when the SPIRIT leads. LET HIM LEAD. 

Kinda cool scriptures from this week...

"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." 

We are SOLDIERS. For Jesus Christ. Waging a WAR against Satan. 

WHAT!!! 

Everyday we are fighting a WAR against Satan. Are we doing everything we can to BEAT him??? Are we doing everything we can to be GOOD SOLDIERS of Jesus Christ?
