My heart is filled to the BRIM with love for the Winnsboro branch president and branch mission leader.  They are quite possibly my favorite people in this state.

THANKSGIVING IN THE SOUTH!!!!!
If I had to describe it in 3 words I would use "someone" & "help" & "me." Preferably in that order.
We had a LOVELY feast of deer meat (which they had shot themselves!!!), and mayonnaise pea salad!!!!  my mouth is watering just thinking about it!!  So are my eyes!  Oh wait those are tears.

The Smith's are a lot better at card games than they are at cooking. They CRUSHED Sister Reynolds and I in the most intense game of Spoons I've ever played.

Christina bit into a piece of pizza the other day and her front tooth snapped off!! She is going to glue it back on HERSELF!!  Gorilla glue >> Dentists

Also while we were at her house she let us know that someone had been shot in her front yard a couple days earlier!!!  But she said if someone even TRIED to touch us she would attack them.  An angel!!  A toothless angel.

Most of our friends living conditions are NOT ideal. They all live in TINY dirty apartments that are FILLED to the brim with cockroaches. Makes me miss teddy #rip.

They have no income, no food, & no one to help them.  They are STRUGGLING.  Badly.  Yet everyday they are PRAISING the Lord and His goodness.  CONTINUALLY thanking Him for all the blessings He has given them.

Shocking I know.  Made me realize just how BLESSED I truly am. So so so so blessed in EVERY way.  They are INCREDIBLE examples to me. If you guys ever hear me complain again just slap me in the face.

Zena read 12 more chapters of the Book of Mormon this week!!!!!  Has she prayed about it yet?  Apparently no... BUT THIS WEEK SHE WILL. Pray for her to pray please.

We met Teresa in person this week and MAN OH MAN she is an ANGEL guys.
I'm obsessed with her and we are already best friends.
AND DECEMBER 11TH IS WHEN SHE WANTS TO BE BAPTIZED!!!!

She described us as lightning bugs. SOBBING.

Ms. Faye came to church!!!! She went on & on about the peace and love she felt there & she BEGGED us to "let her come back" UHHHHH PLEASE!!!!!!!  She is a PRECIOUS older lady who talks more than anyone I have ever met in my entire life.

She KILLS me.  EVERY 5 seconds she tells Sister Reynolds that she is "just the most beautiful young lady" and "wow I just love your hair" and then she will realize she hasn't complimented me...and always says "& your shoes are nice!"  BAHAHAH thanks!!!!!

BUT she bore her testimony at church and just cried talking about us and how she loves us and wishes we could come see her everyday.
(For way too long though... Sister Reynolds had to go up and ask her to sit down.......)
SO PRECIOUS THOUGH!!! after everyone was thanking her for her thoughts and she was BAWLING saying she has never felt so much love in her whole life.

THAT'S THE BEST PART OF THIS GOSPEL!!!!

HELLO

We've been serving at the food bank a lot recently & we usually are there at the same time as Barbara! She's an older lady and last time she asked us to sing her a "christian song" as we stuffed envelopes. We sang "I am a child of God" and guys. My quad cannot sing. At all. AT ALL. But I swear there were angels singing for us HAHA straight up did not sound like us. Barbara was so precious about it too.

A true angel. 

Deborah: the runaway baptizee... has been meeting with us again and we are just going nice and SLOOOOW with her.  We've been having member present lessons and hoping she makes friends so she feels more comfortable at church. It's been going super good & HOPEFULLY she comes to church in person instead of over zoom.

Mary jane can speak in tongues!!!  So can Kelly!!  And Autumn!!  And all the other lovely people we meet here........ hehe we love the pentecostal church. 

One cute little thing about Mary jane though, is that she has the most ginormous tongue I have truly ever seen. And she really likes to just flop that thing all over when we are teaching her... Also she doesn't have any teeth!! Jealous. 

Zena is absolutely loving the Book of Mormon and is already telling all her friends about it and how it's "Such a good read!!" Precious. 

Also she & everyone else in Louisiana pronounces Nephi as napuh. I love it.

Annie came to church AGAIN!!!! 

GUYS these verses in Acts chapter 5 are quite possibly the best verses I read all week!!!!!

"And they departed from the presence of the council, REJOICING that they were counted WORTHY to SUFFER SHAME FOR HIS NAME.

And daily in the temple, and in every house, they CEASED NOT to teach and preach Jesus Christ." 

When people try to bring you down for your beliefs, REJOICE that they even noticed!!  That you were an EXAMPLE of JESUS CHRIST!!!  God's glory >>>>>>> worldly praise 

CEASE NOT to TEACH and PREACH!!!!!!  The gospel is the most important thing, don't EVER let anyone stop you from spreading it. 

"Preach the gospel at all times and if necessary use words." 

I got absolutely SHREDDED by Sister Wilson the other day.  We were just casually talking about clothes and shopping when she LOOKS ME UP & DOWN then proceeds to roast me saying "it's pretty obvious which Missionaries have lots of money, and which ones are just scraping by.  You're just scraping by aren't ya?" UHH OKAAAAAY THANKS SISTER WILSON!!

Maybe I shouldn't buy clothes from the thrift store anymore.... apparently it's obvious. 

Sister Wilson truly is an ANGEL though. 

She really struggles remembering things so at this point she has her own language that we've come to understand. 

A Sister Wilson sentence: "I forgot to buy... salad dressing to decorate the.... ice cream... car.... things!!"

Translation: "I forgot to buy frosting to decorate the christmas tree cookies"

Basically I can also speak in tongues??? 

We walked around ULM campus and it was a BLAST.  I did NOT like talking to new people before the mission, but LOOK AT ME NOW!!  I genuinely think it's so fun to just go up to a random group of people and start talking to them??? Call me Amanda Bennion??? (miss you girl)  Heavenly Father is BLESSING me & answering my thousands of prayers DAILY!!!

TERESA WANTS TO BE BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!  Agh she is incredible!!!  We were talking with her and I thought "we should totally invite her to be baptized."  But I didn't know if it was too soon!!  And I'm a chicken scaredy cat!! 

As we were starting to close up she said "can I ask y'all a question?"  And then she just blurted out "how do I become baptized?! I want to be a part of THIS church family and make God proud."  UMMMM HECK YES TERESA!!!!  so so happy that she was able to listen to God's promptings when I was too scared! don't worry guys I'm getting better and working on being BOLD!!!! Just pray for me. 

ANYWAY Teresa is so awesome and I'm so happy for her. 

Heavenly Father really wanted Sister Reynolds to give a talk this week. 

Or I'm just really good at rock paper scissors.

I think both. 

Either way Sister Reynolds gave a FIRE talk this week while I sat nice and comfy in the congregation. 

We invited over 500 people to church as a zone this week!!!

And 46 as a companionship!! 

12 of our people said they would FOR SURE come!!! 1 person came :) 

hahahah BUT it was still great and hopefully they will come next week?!? 

I wish you guys could meet Kyla. She just SOAKS up the things we teach her and truly loves Jesus more than anything. We read Alma 26 with her and after EVERY verse she would share her favorite part and ask what our favorite part was. She described everything we said as "just perfect" and "absolutely wonderful." She is getting her work schedule changed so she can come to church with us!!  WHOOP WHOOP

Straight up had a coughing attack sending a voice mail to Ricky.  Gave him covid through phone. 

We visited a member the other day.... a VERY old and VERY obese member...... 

she was terrifying. 

Imagine someone yelling at you FOR AN HOUR and blaming you for slavery!!  That's what she did to us :))) fun fun fun!  Also her house was 1000 degrees so I was DRIPPING sweat!  Hehe cute. 

We called another elderly lady in our ward and she asked us to say a prayer with her!  Sister Reynolds was in the MIDDLE of the prayer when this elderly lady just yells "oh that reminds me!!"  And starts telling us an entire story.... in the middle of the prayer HA. SOLID story though. 

At our weekly (always eventful) lunch with Brother Young and Brother Holt at their restaurant Daily Harvest... Brother Young TOOK OFF HIS SHOES AND SOCKS??????? and starting straight up cleaning his feet??? RIGHT NEXT TO ME. AND MY FOOD. Honestly it's not even the most shocking thing he's done. 

Gotta love the people here. 

Had an INCREDIBLE lesson with Anthony. He was active in the church as a teenager, but hasn't been to church in YEARS.  I bore my HEART and SOUL to this man about the Book of Mormon and the PEACE and JOY it has brought me and will bring him if he takes the time to read it everyday. He agreed to read it everyday this week!! He said we reminded him of why he used to be active. 

AND he asked for the church address and said he wanted to come and bring his family!!! 

Did he come? Nope, but that's okay!!!!! 

he also roasted us for eating pork and said we are possessed with the spirits that Jesus cast into pigs :))) 

the only spirit in me is THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD HONEY

This week I studied a LOT about the plan of salvation, and I don't think I really realized just how INCREDIBLE God's plan is for us?!?!  And He did it ALL because of how much He LOVES us!!!!!!  He really made it so that we could be happy for ETERNITY!!  I am SO SO excited to live with Heavenly Father AND Jesus again.  Very very jealous of the people in 3rd Nephi who got to spend time with JESUS?!?!  ALL I WANNA DO IS HUG HIM!!!!!!  Is that too much to ask?!?!  My goodness I just love Him more than anything. 

ALSO I love Louisiana and the crazy people I get to talk to everyday.  OVER A MONTH IN THE FIELD!!!!!!  it's been so so good.  Absolute 10/10.

We served at the zoo! bFluffed and decorated some Christmas trees!! The lady over the volunteers described ALL the trees as "so lovely" and then looked at mine and said "oh...fun!"

guys online contacting really isn't my favorite. BUT IT OPENS DOORS that would have never been opened. LITERALLY.  Kelly apparently didn't know that we "ARE MORMONS?!?!?!" until we told her after our over the phone bible study. (It was only our second call don't worry.)
