HELLO FROM MONROE!!!!! whatta week! my goodness it WENT QUICK!! MY love for Louisiana has only grown and grown. Also my love for the people!! Even the crazy ones hehe

Also I truly cannot understand Ms. Fey half of the time. I feel HORRIBLE because Sister Reynolds then has to REALLY carry the team.

I don't even wanna know what we have been agreeing with... especially since this happens daily. actually hourly. 

I've been roasted for how much I cry.... 

By an Elder in my district that hasn't cried since he was 12. BUT he has punched through a wall!! Now THAT is what I call letting out your emotions! Very very proud.

ALSO got roasted for wearing socks and sandals by an old man who claims I am "too pretty to wear socks and sandals!!" I don't know how to feel about that statement. CONSIDERING I WEAR SOCKS AND SANDALS EVERYDAY.  I will never stop. SOCKS & SANDALS 4 LIFE

Another controversial topic: 

My housemates started listening to Christmas music already!!!!! In october!!! Just smile and nod.

HA KIDDING it's actually kinda hype. The 4 of us look like the strangest little biker gang. 

BUT I REALLY REALLY wish we had just kept biking right past our lunch appointment. 

Chicken goop balls. Yes. Chicken goop balls.  You read that right. That is the only way to describe the meal I had that day. Whatever you are picturing right now, it was probably worse. Currently gagging. 

As I was FORCING that chicken down my gullet...  Brother Broussard informed me that I'm "tall like a texan" and "know my BBQ like a texan" but I'm a major disappointment for not having a southern drawl. Well guess what Jerry, this lunch was a major disappointment. 

SOME THINGS THAT AREN'T A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT..... AND ARE ACTUALLY INCREDIBLE! 

KELLY is the purest angel! She has had a really really hard year. :( after our message about Jesus Christ feeling ALL she feels she BEGGED us to teach her again because it's the most peace she has felt in a long time. I CANNOT wait to talk to her about the plan of salvation.

Hamilton is kinda scary... might be in love with Sister Reynolds... BUT picked a date for baptism!!!! Flirt to convert even on the mission.  KIDDING!!! let's not do that. We always meet with him online & with the elders. Don't worry.

IT MAKES ME SO SO HAPPY WHEN IT CLICKS FOR PEOPLE!!!! When they FINALLY see the importance of the gospel!! When they see HOW it makes their lives SO much better!!! IN EVERY WAY!!!! 

Sometimes I wish I could go back to high school and just be BOLD about this church!! DON'T BE LIKE ME!! BE BOLD!!!! STARTING NOW!!!! 

Jesus Christ DIED for you. He loves you NO MATTER what. We need to be bold about that. We need to LET people know!!! WHY NOT JUST TRY TO SHARE THAT!!!!! what's the worst that could happen?? 

This gospel is GOOD and it blesses lives. It has BLESSED mine in too many ways to count. I love love love it.

Don't worry guys I am still alive. For now. BUT in order for me to stay alive PLEASE remind me not to agree to play soccer with 20 LARGE GROWN men. I don't know WHO let me agree to that but it was the most scared I've ever been. I was doing okay until this man legit BARKED at me & sister searle. BARKED.

I haven't been chased by a dog yet but does that count?? Trust me, a man barking at you is a lot scarier than a dog barking at you. 

But hey he asked me to text him after!! And that was even scarier!!! He was like 30!! (He was not wanting me to text him about the gospel. Sadly.) 

ANYWAY enough about my new friend that I never want to see again!! 

Louisiana is crazy guys. The mission is crazy. Monroe is BUSY!!!! so many things to do and so many people to teach!!!! Also basically everything is ONLINE. All the people we are teaching are OOOLD black ladies who are very scared of covid. 

You all know I really love calling people!! It causes me no stress whatsoever!! If you want to see how I am on the mission just watch "the phone call"!!! I am him and he is me. 

My favorite part is texting people to confirm an appointment and they say "yes that works" SO WE CALL them!! And then they don't answer!! Or if they do it is to reschedule!! And then they don't pick up!! WHOOP!!! it makes us giggle. 

BUT ROSE PICKED UP!!! And then hung up on me!! Hehe. It's the little things 

DEBORAH PICKED A DATE TO BE BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!! We JUMPED for joy. Literally. BEST THING EVER AGH!! 

I REALLY like my new district (don't worry "good missionaries" yall are still better) BUT they always roast me for liking apples and cheese??  ITS GOOD GO EAT IT. 

I HAVE A NEW FAN!!!! He likes me because my ancestor helped assassinate Abraham Lincoln... he was very excited and bought us lunch. Kinda cool? Kinda concerning. 

I'm a REALLY GOOD missionary guys. Like REALLY good. so good in fact, I Introduced myself to the bishop as ryan!!!! Who's sister spangler? Apparently it's not me!!! I died inside while he died laughing. 

BUT it really has been good!!!!!!!! First day I only cried in the church saying bye to my mtc comp., in the car, in the store, in my new home, and in the shower!!! HA no but after the first day I've been THRIVING!!!! Only happy tears now! I swear! 

I love love love this gospel! AND I LOVE THE BOOK OF MORMON!!!!! that book is better than any book on the planet earth. Agh it's so good. Go read it. Now. I'll wait!! 

Don't forget Jesus Christ will NEVER leave you!! He loves you more than you can comprehend and NOTHING you do will ever change that. He is your Savior. Your friend! Your brother!! Don't forget about Him and all he does for YOU.

Can't believe I'm leaving this place on tuesday?!?!?! Next time y'all hear from me I'll be in LOUISIANA... or Mississippi or Arkansas hehe. 

This past week has been PACKED with goodness!! It's incredible. My love for the Savior has grown SO SO MUCH.  It's a real shocking amount now. I have felt His love EXPONENTIALLY and it is GOOD guys. REAL GOOD. He's the best. 

SPANGLER VOLLEYBALL CHRONICLES PART 2?????

@davisspangler. I think we all missed my brother's updates in HIS emails about his mtc volleyball days. SO HERE'S MINE!!!!!!!  we played volleyball as a district this morning! and you would THINK I'd be good at volleyball considering my dad is a volleyball KING. but you'd be very very wrong. VERY wrong. An elder (very lovingly) yelled at me to get my head in the game and then proceeded TO HIT THE VOLLEYBALL DIRECTLY AT MY FACE!!!!!!  It was a lovely experience.  I guess you could say I got my head in the game..... 

BUT DON'T WORRY GUYS!!!!!!!! I CAN HOLD MY OWN IN FOOSBALL!!!! I'm not completely incompetent. 

Another highlight... apparently there is a tree here that smells like cream soda??? I decided to prank my district into thinking I had found it... I guess I underestimated how good I am at lying because elder heindel threw his bag to the floor and SPRINTED to the tree. (That sadly did not smell like cream soda).... when he came back we realized not only did I break his heart... but also his glasses... OOPS!!!!!!  This elder had been so excited that he threw his glasses on the floor and they shattered.... I am the devil. Someone take my tag. That experience was a 2/10 and I will never live it down. 

BESIDES THAT I am seriously doing incredible!!!! Only one minor break down in front of my teacher..... IMPROVEMENT!! 

Good thing God is with me EVERY step of the way!!!! He will NEVER abandon us!!!!!!
